This piece is inspired by the incredible poem The Map Woman by Carol Ann Duffy from her poetry collection Feminine Gospels. Moving away from home I became overwhelmed with nostalgia rather than homesickness and created this hand sewn book of cyanotypes printed onto fabric as a reflection of my feelings at the time. It includes Duffy’s poetry, photos I took when first learning anologue at college and darkoom dust prints.
